My DS13 still comes for a goodnight hug every evening (sweet!), but as soon as he says "night night", our terrier gets upset, whining & often goes as if to bite my son. We now tell him to 'sit & wait', while I hug my son & he goes upstairs. The dog will sometimes run after him but doesn't go upstairs after him (he's a downstairs only dog ).
Can anyone shed any light on why he does this?
