Sleep training my dog

DD is a rescue. About 18 months old. Previous thread about him. All is well. Still investigating legs.

Tonight however we have a problem. He has been a fabulous sleeper. Settles no problem either downstairs in his bed in hall or in the landing. Sat night however he stayed at mums and he slept with ds. Tonight. Will he settle? Will he hell. Whining and barking and scratching outside my door. I've given him my t shirt. I've left my socks on my side if the door. At the moment I'm kind of pacing barefoot dancing around on my side of the door. That seems to have quietened him. 3 factors I suppose. 1 he hasn't been out for a good walk today 2 he was allowed to sleep on bed and 3 he went crazyyy when I picked him up though he seems settled he must have really missed me. He's stayed there before no prob. We've only had him about 7 weeks. I want to go to bed. So hungover tired 😫 but don't want to stop pacing in case he starts up again!

With any luck a good walk & getting back in to his normal routine will help. Could you try leaving a radio on low until he settles again? As someone who's running on about 3 hours sleep a night thanks to a poorly baby I sympathise & hope fornyour sake ot doesn't last long! Brew

Thanks Bernard. I did consider a radio. He did finally settle. Think he was a little on edge. He went downstairs to bark too. Sometimes the neighbours have some late night comings and goingsHmm which haven't disturbed him for a while. Yes will tire him out on a good walk today. And maybe apologise to the other neighbours Blush
