I just had butterflies in my tummy - what an angel xx

MargotLovedTom · 23/02/2016 21:20

He is beautiful. Looks very imperious up there on his throne Wink. We have a Goldie boy and he's getting on but still so handsome. He's not allowed on the furniture though.... far too big and hairy !

jigster01 · 23/02/2016 21:31

When we got him we said no going on furniture!! ....we had to keep to that for a while until he knew his place as he was very dominant in the beginning and tried to rule us all ..my ds has trained him very well

magnificent. i love him.

Wolfiefan · 23/02/2016 21:33

That face. So gorgeous.
Dominant though? You do know that theory has been discredited?

MargotLovedTom · 23/02/2016 21:41

Here's our boy in his favourite place. At least this water was clean, unlike the mud baths he generally favours.

Is he a puppy Margot? He has a beautiful face as well

Hoppinggreen · 24/02/2016 07:31

I don't know whether dominance theory is right or not but I do know that our GR became mich less stroppy when he was banned from the sofa.
Anyway, here he is

WhoaCadburys · 24/02/2016 08:02

He is gorgeous.

Dominance theory has been disproved, but maybe OP means confident/boisterous? We have one of those - you have given me hope OP.

jigster01 · 24/02/2016 18:15

Well he was definately very very confident. ..use to get very angry and growl when we told him to get off furniture, not to chew things he shouldn't etc . He was spoilt when he was a puppy and we were told he was treated like a prince and so thought he was one ! It was our fault really. He had to be reminded who was the leader of the pack .
It was a lot of work as there are 6 of us in the house and we all have to do training and be consistent. He is now so so good .He will now get off furniture if we tell him to without a peep !

He is a stunner Jig. happy birthday to him 😊 we're trying not to let our new dog (adult) on settees as he too gets well growly when I try to get him off. I think it's too confusing for him thinking everywhere's his.

MargotLovedTom · 25/02/2016 11:19

Thanks jigster. No he's definitely not a puppy - he's nearly 11! He was 9 on that photo I posted; he's obviously for good genes because he still looks very young Wink. The muddy picture is a very familiar sight in this house as well.

HoppingGreen yours is beautiful too. I just love Goldies; they are like big teddy bears.

MargotLovedTom · 25/02/2016 11:21

got good genes

ScrappyMalloy · 25/02/2016 11:23

A belated Happy Birthday to your lovely-looking fellow.

He looks amazing, and I have serious Dog Envy Grin

Helgathehairy · 27/02/2016 20:23

As we're sharing pics my boy knows his place.

Helgathehairy · 27/02/2016 20:25

Jig wow he is beautiful!

BernardsarenotalwaysSaints · 01/03/2016 16:04

Gorgeous! They're a wonderful breed.

This is my MILs old GR about 12 months before he died with my eldest DC (who's now almost 6). My DH had sat her on the sofa & he got up next to her just as she was falling asleep. He was amazing.

snuggledinbed · 02/03/2016 08:39

Lovely dog.

Dominance/packs/ knowing place/leader of pack - all discarded theories and quite wrong really. cesar Milan it's your fault to keep going on about these

Notthecarwashagain · 03/03/2016 08:04

Ooh loved seeing all these pics of your beautiful GRs, as has DS.
We have a puppy and you've given him something to look forward to- he's not really enjoying the puppy bit, and just wants him to be big and (hopefully) calm (

I'm just going to sneak this pic of ours on too Grin

My beautiful GR
Notthecarwashagain · 03/03/2016 08:05

jigster01 · 03/03/2016 17:23

Ooh notthecar he (?) is a beauty ..looks like a little stuffed toy!
Another photo ...wanted some of my popcorn though it looks like he's eating my vase of flowers !
