Brush recommendations for a beagle

Our 4 month old beagle pup is shedding like crazy. He hates being brushed with a mitt (thinks it's a furry creature and tries to bite it).

What would be the best type of brush for a beagle?

The zoom groom is brilliant for getting loose hair out. My lab loves it, sends him off to sleep. Probably feels like a relaxing massage because there's no bristles, just rubber tip thingies.

Another vote for the Zoom Groom, brilliant for short haired dogs.
