We've had her 5 weeks and today was the first time I bit the bullet and let her off the lead. She was brilliant, almost perfect recall (she got distracted by smells en route back to me :o ) and at one point she jumped over my other dogs head, this is no mean feat as he is a tall greyhound! She ran at him and leapt up to snap at his face to get him to play, he ducked and she flew clean over his head!

A terrier? With almost perfect recall?! Blimey!

Love seeing dogs running off the lead! She looks so happy. She'll sleep well tonight!

Yes, she was brilliant! She came back every time I called her, she just got a little distracted by smells a couple of times on her way back to me :o and she's only had her new name for 3 weeks :)

If she's anything like mine she's just lulling you into a false sense of security. Like toddlers do.

My terrier always comes back but only when he bloody wants to. Love seeing them run though.

My terrier used to dribble a football (twice the size of her) like Pele.

That thought also occurred to me Bored. But I will always have tasty treats with me, usually liver cake which she loves. So hopefully she'll stay this well behaved off lead :o

We have had our puppy 5 weeks too snd been going off lead with a whistle for recall he loves it although as we live next to a river and the rain means it's flooded we have had to keep him in lead last week as he is a cocker spaniel who loves water but the current of the river would sweep him away!

It's lovely to see dogs having fun of lead.
I let my ddog off lead as his recall is pretty good as he doesn't like to go too far away from me ( he's like my little shadow)

Clever pup! Well done for 'being brave' & letting her off. The first few times are always nerve wracking.

My Dads most recent dog (who lived to the grand old age of 17 & is the reason for him being named Grandad dogs name) was a Black Fell Terrier & always had perfect recall even if she had picked up a scent well she did for Dad. Not so much for me. So it is possible for a terrier to behave itself
