Signs of poisoning in dogs?

i might be jumping to conclusions... But my dog has spent the past couple of hours being sick with increasing volume... He's usually mad as a box of frogs too and is really quiet and still...

My neighbour knocked on the door to scream at me about his barking recently (which we're tackling in every way we can and just took him to my parents with us all over Christmas...) I had to go out this afternoon to take cardboard and let him out when I got in and about an hour after that he started being sick.... I called my vet to see if I could speak to someone but there's no reply obviously and the message about emergencies isn't clicking in....

Do people actually do this??
