8-9 month old dog regression?

Hi

Is this normal at this age? I have been reading about the teenager phase but didn't think it would be so hard work.
He is pressing every button and doing whatever he pleases!

Please tell me when it gets better!

Yes absolutely normal - should ease off around 12 months and he'll be likeable again about 18 months!

Our youngest pup has just turned 2 and starting to be a bit more like a proper dog

Tennager stroppy not listening doing what they like really. Be back to normal aftwr a year old

Oh no so got a while left yet until he calms down a bit. I thought it would only last a month or so. He's back to biting and mouthing again. Is this also normal?

We got ours at 7 months so adopted a preteen he was biting and mouthing just be firm and patient it will pass keep posting on here it was my lifesaver the doghouse lot are fab.

My boy was a bloody teenager until he was about 2!! He's so lovely now he's three. He was disobedient, cheeky, naughty and playful he's so chilled these days

Oh crikey 2! He calmed down around 4 months but since about 7 months it's endless to be honest. He is like a hooligan and has no manners. Keep telling myself this will pass (like when he was a puppy) but he really is constantly misbehaving.

I don't know whether it just hasn't hit us yet or not but my lab Monty is ten months old and is still lovely.

Tbf Labs are quite daft and soppy my aunt and uncle have guide dog pups and none of them went through a stroppy stage

My labradoodle is coming up 10 months and totally trying to rule the roost!! She’s been crying and running around since 4.30 wanting us to get up. She has started doing this I got up a couple of times in the past with her thinking there was something wrong she just wanted to get up and play and fetch toys. It’s getting earlier every day trying my best to ignore her

MsAdorabell I hate to break it you but battendog the springer's worse months seem to have been around 11-16

He's just starting to come out the other side, I think (I hope).

miserablemoo we have a good friend who used to breed springers back in the 70s/80s. In her words "I've very good news for you missbattenberg... he won't get any worse"

Agree that the 1 1/2-2 year mark is when they become the dog you dream of! Mine was literally like a light switch, he suddenly just 'behaved'.

Routine and constant training is key when they are is their naughty phase. Important not to compensate by over exercising them, try brain games, tricks and puzzle feeders instead.

Stuff a tug toy in his face when he is biting/mouthing, and turn it into a game, practising 'drop/leave it' as well.

Teach a 'settle' or 'on your bed' command too for when he needs a time out to calm down.

My Patterdale-collie cross is adorable but just turned 8 months abs is now a tearaway..trying to rule the roost. Barking at me constantly quite demanding.

I utterly exhausted.. love her to bits and will see it through^^

I thought we had missed it with our lab, breezed through 8 months -12 months and then.......
