my 5 yr old westie has been a wee bit of colour since Sunday. She had diarrhoea yesterday and last night but not much at all. I think she was also a wee bit sick but like waterbrash. She has had a wee boiled chicken breast today and water but nothing else. she went out to the garden before bed but came in with her back passage covered in red blood. the vets closed till the morning any advice?

No, sorry, but emergency call to the vets as soon as they're open. If she gets worse during the night, if she's distressed, do they have an emergency number? Poor thing. Bright red blood sounds worrying. Hopefully it's something simple like a burst blood vessel in her rear end, and not coming from further up. Hope she's ok.

It could be her anal glands, or hemorrhoids. Keep her quiet and warm until you can get her to the vet. If she gets worse you will have to phone your vet and use their out of hours service.
