We are odd somewhere snowy for Christmas so muttley has got a fleece to keep her warm. She isn't totally on board yet, although that might be a ploy because she gets given treats after putting it on, and she is quite sneaky when it comes to engineering ways to earn treats

I was loving these pics until I got to yours Sisters. We lost our Scottie in August, and have yet to choose a new dog. Mind you, ours would never consent to donning clothing of any sort, difficult wretch that he was (sniff). I think we've waited long enough and the house smells far too fresh. We definitely need a new 4 legged companion.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 27/12/2015 19:07

SistersOfPercy · 28/12/2015 00:45

Oh mimi ☹️ Flowers
We lost our beloved Jack three years ago to liver disease, the curse of the scottie it seems. He was only nine and he was my world. We'd always said the house wasn't right without a scottie and Murphy joined us two years ago. He has so many of jacks traits yet is such an individual character too.

Having another dog isn't a betrayal of the last one, it's testament to the huge amount of love and joy they brought to your life.

mimiasovitch · 28/12/2015 10:22

I've been putting it off for ages, but I was running in the beach yesterday and a random collie came up to me, dropped its ball and did the laying flat, ears pricked, please throw it for me now thing, whilst the owner stood by bemused. I got back home and started looking at the rescue sites! I love the Scottie's independence and character, but am not sure about having another 15 years of the sort of dog that goes for a sniff rather than a walk (I am aware this may have been Basil specific. I am sure some scotties walk for miles, keeping up with their companions and never disappearing into the undergrowth and then appear only to pee on a single blade of grass for 20 minutes). I may look at dogs with longer legs, and then go home with a terrier.

MsAdorabelleDearheartVonLipwig · 28/12/2015 11:50

Percy gives very good advice. She was a rock for me when we lost Barney. I'll always remember her kind words. I've offered them to other people too. Flowers
