I know that no dogs are perfect. But why does everyone else that I meet seem to have the perfect dog.

Their dogs always walk beautifully. They ignore other dogs. They never seem to jump at cats or birds. Or get scared over feathers lying on the floor ( I kid you not with that one. )

I am aware that my springer ( called Raffles ) is only 11 months old. And we still have a way to go in his training.

And I am sure that every other person I meet with a dog has problems.

They just all seem so pulled together and perfect. I just wonder if we will ever get there. I am always the one that is embarrassed as my dog goes nuts or acts weird.

Thed0gs. You have my springer exactly. He is not aggressive he is a softy. But when meeting other dogs outside he is so over the top he looks aggressive. I never put him on a lead in the woods as he played lovely with other dogs.

Then all of a sudden he changed to this loud barking in your face dog.

After a few people tried to kick him away as they quite rightly thought he was going to bite their dogs I now have him on a long lead. Not the best for a springer.

Though when I find the right dog owner and they are happy for him to play intake him off. After a mins of jumping round like a looney and barking in the dogs faces he plays fine.

So quiet dogs are a no no to play with. Doesn't do this at day care though no idea why.

Aw springermum that's so mean! He just sounds like a lovely, exuberant puppy. I don't blame you for keeping him on the lead in those cases as it just becomes stressful.
