We have a 10 year old pug who has started pooing in his sleep. He does have bad arthritis and hip dysplasia.
He gets regular cartrophen injections in the winter and metacam tablets in summer when needed and he is on 4cyte supplements and thyroxine daily.
He eats a mainly raw diet (dog museli, bones, sardines, mince, chicken necks etc).
His back legs have basically no fat or muscle and are weak at times but he still gets around on his own, but not long distances.
Anyway, he has been doing a crouch/squat/walk thing when pooing and I was told this was due to his arthritis and dysplasia. Is the sleep pooing the same? He isn't incontinent of urine at all. Am I going to have to buy nappies? Is it downhill from here? Is there anything you clever dog people advise?
