Thread about a thread, don't mind me, having a moan

Someone's asking in chat why some people don't like animals. The responses are quite sad. I feel sorry for some people that they'll never understand the joy that a dog can bring. Mind you I don't think I'd trust some of them to look after a goldfish.

I don't understand people wanting all animals gone from their sight either, but i, as you, don't go to threads about that because I'm not going to change their minds.

Incidentally, I like too tell anti arachnid people that they, on average, are never more than a metre away from a spider.

Well let's leave the posters on that thread to argue the fors and againsts. I'm just amazed that people can have such awful opinions about other peoples beloved pets. I mean, we all know that people can't stand children but we don't expect them to come on here and start being nasty about our offspring. It's just bloody rude to be so cruel about it.

I don't know about disliking all people but I'm seriously going off some posters.

I think you're right Tough. You can't argue with determined ignorance. Although I have just jumped in again because a couple of posts were getting on my nerves. Some of them need to live and let live instead of citing obvious extreme examples to somehow illustrate a moot point. Most of them trot out the 'dogs are smelly, dogs bite, dogs jump up' mantra without ever acceding that actually a lot of dogs are quite clean and well looked after and are well trained to behave themselves. Conveniently overlooked, that one.

I completely agree and realise that we ourselves as humans are also animals and that we share this earth but it still doesn't mean I want to share my home with one. As I said though I don't mind other people's pets
