I know someone does - could you please tell me about their general personality. Are they good working dogs in this country? Thank you Smile

Sorry, please ignore me. Should have had a look at wiki first - too high energy for us!

They are high energy, yes, but they're not driven in the way some collies can be.

Mine is fabulously chilled at home but bombs around at lightning speed when we're out. He's been very easy to train and is so good-natured.

The one thing I wasn't expecting was how speedy he is - he is whippet-fast and can turn on a sixpence which means ultra-good recall is a must as he could get into trouble very quickly otherwise as you don't have much time to react

They are high energy, but they can also be couch potatoes.
Mine is ball crazy and will keep on and on wanting us to throw the ball. If we don't have a ball on a walk, he will find anything for us to throw, a conker (still in its prickly shell), a pine cone, apple!!! and yes, very fast.
As the above poster says they are also quite chilled. Mine likes nothing better than to chill out next to you, preferably on the bed!!!!
They are very clever and easy to train. Bit of a class clown as I found out at training classes. We would be walking to heel in a circle and all of a sudden he would be walking with his front feet on my back or he would do a crocodile roll. Once he got over the toddler phase he has become a wonderful dog. Great with children too

Sadly don't own one but babysit one sometimes.
He is the most beautifully behaved well mannered dog I've ever met but a lot of that will come down to training, which I can't take the credit for!!
His brilliant with our children and we love him to bits. Tempted to get one but they aren't easy to come by
