Anyone know of a good boarding kennels in west or East Sussex. My dog will be left for 5 days for the first time. He is large, and used to prowling in the downstairs of the house at night. Getting someone to come here to look after him is not an option as he will not take to being left alone in the house at any time.

Old Clayton Kennels

I haven't used them as a boarding kennel, but have done a lot of the training classes there and it is well run. They also run day care and that seems popular.

Thank you Outcomes. I have looked at their website, and emailed an enquiry but was a bit put off by the statement that dogs are preferably neutered or spayed. Mine isn't, though he is totally non aggressive.

We have used arden grange kennels just outside of brighton. We were very happy with them. Unfortunately our pup got a little poorly whilst there but they did everything to ensure his wellbeing. They even had a vet out and fed fish and rice at no extra cost to make sure he was ok. They also said they went in for cuddles etc. He came out very happy and know others whos dogs go there and are always happy to go back

Ahh, I hadn't seen that bit. Perhaps it is to lessen the risk of accidental matings.

Like I say I haven't used them, so can't recommend them first hand :)

Thank you Frenchiepup. I'll have a look at Arden Grange. Yes Outcomes, I guess as they tend to socialise the dogs, they don't want any funny business!

I use benedict farm at staplecross on the Kent /East Sussex border. They breed labs but also have a boarding kennels attached. Dogs are walked three times a day as they have plenty of land for exercise. My cavapoo loves going there. Website is www.listerandsons.com.

Airfix, I've just looked at the website, it looks really good, the only thing is it's over an hours drive which might just be too far, but thank you anyway.
