I am on my fourth; they are my favorite breed. Here is the present incumbent; she is an old girl and very sweet.

Our neighbour has a corgi puppy - very, very cute - I get the impression that it's quite difficult to train. I'm not sure if it's just this corgi that's wilful or corgis generally.

They can be challenging to train because they are intelligent and a bit stubborn. They like to do things their way and are sometimes less interested in pleasing their humans than some other breeds. Their original duties (herding and driving cattle) required then being able to think for themselves and that trait has survived. I like that about corgis, though, and once they bond with you, they can be trained readily as they are quick to figure out what is required.

All of mine have been good with cats. We don't have a cat now, but our girl has made friends with two of the neighbor cats and is very good with my brother's cat.

The only downside is that they do like to herd things: children, cats, other dogs, and their instinct is to nip at the heels of whatever they are herding. I was able to stop that behavior with all of mine (the nipping).
