I have had the mother for neatly ten years since she was a pup, and she is pretty good. She is pre dh and children, and used to come to work with me etc, so is fairly well socialised and well behaved. When she was 4 we had her covered and then kept one puppy, have one tou mum, and sold the other two. At that time I also fell pregnant, and was very ill with sickness the whole way through my pregnancy, unfortunately this meant that the dogs only got walked by me walking down the lane and letting them run round the fields. When the baby was here and we took her for a walk with ds in the pushchair a silly lab came bounding up to the pushchair, all bouncy like they are, and the little one just lost her tiny mind trying to protect ds. We were slightly stressed too as the lab thrust his head straight into ds. The little one was pretty traumatised about other dogs after that. So therefore, the puppy saw no other dogs, and now will not stop barking and being crazy and trying to nip the other dogs if we do meet them. She is so kind and gentle with the children, but sees herself as their personal protection. If I take her for a walk on her own, with her mum and none of the children then she will recall no problem and be good as gold, much calmer, but she still goes crazy when we see other dogs.
