House Training - Help, we seem to be going backwards!

Hello all, I'm looking for some doggy wisdom and advice please.

We have a 4 month old Westie pup that we've had for three weeks. He's fabulous and settling in really well. The house training was going fine, regular time in the garden, lots of praise when he went to the loo and ignoring any accidents in the house. He was doing really well the first couple of weeks and now we are having a few accidents. He is mostly going to the same place in the house to do a wee. Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions as to how to stop him doing this.

Thank you x

hi Bowbear, new owner here too, 3 mth shohtzu.
Have you really scrubbed the area clean? Think they tend to go in the same area if thwy can smell it. Also think they are like children 3 steps forward, 2 steps back

It sounds like he can smell his previous visits and is going over old ground. I think on this board they recommend using laundry detergent to clean up afterwards or there is stuff at Pets at Home to get rid of the scent so as to deter them from re marking.

Thanks so much for your comments, I'm a demon with the anti bacterial spray but I don't think it's doing enough to remove the scent! Will get on to it!
