realise this is probably an American idea imported but it is such a nice idea to appreciate and admire our dog(s) for all they mean to us and how they make us feel Grin
my dog is wonderful and supportive and I love him to bits even though he is old and grey

Late to this, but as I finally got a half decent shot of Murphy today I thought I'd share.

Before I do I wanted to send a huge hug to best. Murph is my second scott. I could still sit and cry a river for my first. Losing one is such a horrible thing. I can promise you though that one day you'll look at photos and remember things paddy did and you will smile, not cry.

Best - I'm so sorry you've lost your Paddy - 10 is no age at all

Sisters - that's a fab photo - he looks very dignified

Thanks to everyone. It's true, they leave a massive hole.

Best - so sorry, we lost our Molly on dogs day too, half past 11 at night, aged 9. The grief is horrendous Sad Flowers

Operaha, so sorry. It's awful isn't it. He was so much a part of our family. I can't believe he's no longer here. 9 is such a young age. Flowers for your Molly.

I've lost dogs in the past but the both lived to 15 and although I was devastated, I was also prepared. This time I am shocked as well.

We knew she was getting a bit slow but thought she was just getting on a bit. Think she had a stroke, she went from fine to gone in 4.5 hours so didn't suffer, was very peaceful actually. So hard having kids too. I want another but I just don't know if I have the energy to go through all this again. It's very early days.
I managed not to cry yesterday but I feel it all again now and will be very hard next weekend when we have visitors - such a loved dog, she's devastated everyone.

so sorry to hear about your Molly opera - my previous dog was a Mollie and this brought back thoughts of her too as she had to be PTS aged 10
lump in my throat always when reading about other owners who lose their beloved dogs Flowers
