I saw horrible photos on the internet

I sometimes look at photos of cute/silly/funny cats and dogs to cheer myself up. Happily clicking away on Pinterest and then suddenly there were lots of really horrible photos of animal abuse, particularly dogs. I couldn't stop myself from looking at them, even though I didn't want to. There were a few photos of this one dog in particular. He must have suffered a lot. I won't add the details.

I saw the photos and closed the app, traumatised. And now I feel horrendous because by doing that, I've basically done nothing.

What can I do? Is it just an untraceable photo on the Internet that cannot be reported?

I know what you mean. I hate that people post random photos of abuse that you can do nothing about. I hide them ASAP.

What you could do is adopt or sponsor a rescue dog, or donate/raise funds for one. That way you're helping another dog that needs help, and you will see the after story for dogs/animals that have found good homes after their horrible previous existences..
