My poor beloved dog died on Tuesday night from complications from HGE. On Thursday morning his brother showed symptoms, and has been with the vet until yesterday. It's been so worrying. The whole family has been knocked for six by his death - I have two children aged 6 and 9. On top of it all, I have two essays due in this week, and I've been too upset and tired to concentrate!

How terrible. Is it coincidence or is there some common cause?

marlene4boycie · 26/07/2015 21:53

The vets didn't get a fecal sample so nothing conclusive, but the reckoning is that they both ate something - possibly something dead considering the severity of the symptoms. I can't believe it - had never heard of HGE before this.

That sounds awful - poor dogs and poor you

How's your other dog now?

Oh lord, I'm so sorry.

You really need some conclusive proof this time.

Other dog is doing so well now - thank you :) He's out of danger for sure and is eating normally again, and doesn't seem to be pining for his brother (daft thing!)
