Dogs just been sick- help

My dog has just been sick and brought up what looked and felt like a stone until i broke it. When I first picked it up it felt hard but then I squeezed it it was a bit softer then it broke.

Is it possible that this would be a stone and should I take him to the vet to get checked?

Check his gums. They should be a bit pink and when you press them they should return to pink quite quickly. Is he drinking and eating? How is he in himself?

He has been fine although he has been whining /crying a lot recently. And his gums etc seem ok.

When he drinks his water he sometimes coughs and he eats no problem. - I doubt anything would stop him eating though.

Just a bit worried in case he has decided to chow down on more stones when we haven't been looking.

Watch what comes out the other end over the next 24-48 hours, and keep an eye on his gums. If they don't spring back to pink there could be a blockage. If you're worried, call your vet!
