It's Sunday night and tomorrow is bank holiday!
Should I pay for the emergeny vet?
Wait until Tuesday morning?
Or is there something I can do myself to help?

Get a baby wipe or two (non scented) & gently but firmly wipe all around the ear & in it see if any gunk comes out or grass seeds. Does the ear canal feel hot ?

No baby wipes here floundering (DCs are older). Will a damp clean cloth suffice?

Sounds like an ear infection. Our boy had that on a bank holiday too. Had to go to emergency vet. Cost a bloody fortune but got it back on insurance.

It may well be mites which a emergency visit certainly wouldn't warrant! I'd leave it until Tuesday if the dog doesn't seem at deaths door though.

He's only a puppy and he does like to gallop over the long grass and I've today been advised not to let him because of unwelcome things getting into his ears Sad
He's fast asleep now.mHe's not off his food and all behaviour is normal.
Thanks very much for all the posts.
