My dog bit mums dog :-(

My 2 year old choc lab went for my mums dog today, not sure what exactly happened but the Westie cried out according to mum.

My dog spends every work day at mums with the Westie, they usually get on brilliantly, play together, sleep together, eat together. The only difference today being mum had taken Westie to the groomers where she was scalped Grin and bathed.

I know she probably looks/smells different to usual so could that cause it? Fudge Dog has never bit anything/anyone before, gets on with all other dogs, so I'm a bit worried.

When you say went for? Snapped at or properly bit and broke the skin?

My dogs best friend went for her the day after she was clipped. My dog barged over like she always does to play, friends dog just didn't seem to recognise her, and didn't appreciate being jumped on! They had a scuffle for a minute then it was all over. I think being clipped/bathed makes them smell and look completely different to their doggie friends!
