Dogs mouth won't close

My friend is very concerned about her dog. He can't close his mouth, just lets it hang slightly open all the time. He can eat but is finding it harder. She has been to the vet but they cannot find anything obvious wrong. He is going in for x Ray and examination under anaesthetic tomorrow. Has anyone come across this before? She has googled and found some serious neurological condition it could be so is getting in a right state!

Likely to be this. Likely to be resolvable. Do not panic. www.petmd.com/dog/conditions/neurological/c_dg_trigeminal_inflammation?page=show

Addictedtogreys, you are so right, but I defy anyone to stay away from Google in these circumstances! Like a moth to a flame....! Thank you villainous, the good thing about this article is that it says it normally resolves in 2 to 4 weeks. I've sent it to her, so hopefully she'll feel a bit more positive!
