Insurance - any current (or recent) AXA customers?

Just had a letter from AXA informing me that they are no longer doing pet insurance. I'm not sure what to do now. They are arranging a quote from a company I've never heard of (NCI), and a quick google suggests that the new company is quoting ridiculous premiums (some people saying they've been quoted £200 a month!).

I'm pretty pissed off since I went with them on the basis of cover for life, which they are now declining to provide. As one of my dogs is 12 (the other is 7) I am not going to be able to arrange similar cover for her.

Has anyone else been in this situation? Any advice?

there is a Money Saving Expert thread running on this issue which you might be able to more advice on, if enough people complain on/to mse maybe they'll try to do something about it.

Thanks - I'll take a look at that now.
