How long does it normally take for a pup to get this?

Said puppy knows that when we go outside it is toilet time and does so on command now, however can not wait for one second and if isn't already outside will just wee on floor. Pup is 12weeks ish and my floors are sick of being washed Smile
I try to go out as often as possible (hourly) but still wees happen inside! The crate is also always wet in a morning. No urinary problems however puppy has a condition which means he is fed a liquid only diet multiple times a day so proberbly isn't helping!

Also, I'm managing to crack most things however pup has started barking at strangers and strange dogs. should I reassure him or will it reinforce this? He is very loud in general and is forever barking at everyone and everything...

Dpup is nearly 5 months old and we are (hopefully) getting there. I don't think she has the ability to keep it all in all the time. Until she is reliably housetrained, she and the other dogs are bannedHmm from upstairs. The pup can leap over the baby gate in a single bound, and there are horrible carpets everywhere. Acres of them. Now they are more disgusting than ever despite going through gallons of bio soap, Hibiscrub, a steamer and whatever else comes to hand to clear up the mess. I feel your pain!
Re barking at strangers. Ours does this too. It isn't helped by having a house full of other barking dogs. I train her alone outside to tease the traffic get used to the traffic, and I treat her when she is calm or looks at me, or is more interested in the treat than the traffic. She is improving.

We didn't get our lab pup until he was 12 weeks old and he literally house trained within the first week. We only ever had half a dozen wee accidents and 2 poos. Think we were very lucky with him though and I don't know how much the breeder had done before. He never messed in his crate (first 3-4 nights we got up in the middle of the night 1-2 times and took him out). I think they are capable around this time, but yours might have additional needs due to his medical condition and it might take a bit longer.

When we got him we were with him 100% of the time for the first 2 weeks and he was our first dog/pup so very new to it; we took notes of the time when he was fed and when he pee'd/poo'd and quickly recognised a pattern for him and worked with that for taking him out to the garden and not engaging (kept on lead) until he'd done his business then lots of treats and fuss off lead every time.

Are you cleaning up inside with something that is going to completely remove every trace of smell for him to prevent repeats?
