Feeding routine - before or after exercise?

My dogs always get their breakfast at about 7.30am, then have their first walk after the school run, so about 9am. My friend feeds his dog an hour or so after the first walk, as he said it's better for their stomachs that way. The main reason I feed so early is that a couple of days I'm at work at 10am, and don't want to feed straight after a walk. They normally get their second meal when we eat, about 5.30pm and have their last quick walk about 7.30pm.

So, is there a right or wrong way with this?

The advice for bloat is to not feed within 2 hours of exercise...though, there's no clear evidence that it makes much difference.

Other than that it makes no odds really, I wouldn't walk a dog with a completely empty or full stomach - but that's mostly because I wouldn't want to go then so I assume they wouldn't.
