How long is too long?

I would love a dog but I'm out of the house for just under 6 hours a day. Currently I'm doing this 5 days a week but it may drop to 3 or 4 days in June.

Would it, as I'm suspecting, be too long?

Yes, sorry, 6 hours in one block is too long.

Would you be able to afford for a dog walker to come in midway through and take the dog out for an half an hour to an hour? I think that would be workable for an adult dog (not a puppy though).
