Anyone feed this ? i found it under grain free dog's food on amazon and have ordered Dd some along with some salmon oil to mix in hoping she likes it

Did you read the ingredients? It's nearly all grain, not something I would consider feeding.

Dog Muesli I think is normally mixer?
So meant to be fed alongside tripe or mince or tinned food not on its own.

The description and reviews said grain free Confused i bought it mainly because it's softer than most dry foods and the ingredients list looks good so im happy for her to have it she doesn't have any bad reaction to grains or anything so it should be fine i feed her a mix of dry and wet so its not on its own the reviews did state it could be fed on its own though Confused

Skinners Muesli one of the worst Skinners foods scoring a poor 1.6 out of 5, also contains sugar (Wheat Glucose Syrup) which has no place in a dog food.

Well the reviews are all 5 star and she is having salmon oil and wet food on top so I'll see how she does on it Smile she's currently on Aldi dry food anything has to be better than that Grin

Even on that link the stats look good low fat and 2 good reviews Smile im not worried about her not getting what she needs its just whether or not she will eat it she's on 400g dry and 2 200g tins a day now Shock she's only supposed to have 200g a day all together for a a 20-30kg dog think she os having a growth spurt it's crazy

Skinners field and trial duck/turkey/salmon and rice varieties are far better quality for not much more money.

200g doesn't sound right either - my dogs are very good do-ers and at 25kg would still have around 300-350g a day if fed dry food.

Its likely dogs will very happily eat this as its got added sugar and oils (=fats) whose sole purpose is to make all that grain/maize palatable. Doesn't mean its a good food.

Love the Amazon selling point "Coated with wheat glucose syrup which gives the food added natural flavour and a distinctive texture" - coating a dog food with sugar to make it edible is not a good thing!

If you are looking for a new food for your dog Allaboutdogfood is a much better place to start and look at ingredients/prices and reviews than Amazon. You can search for food by grain free, daily feeding price, main ingredients etc etc. It will give you details and explanations of all the ingredients and let you make a more informed choice, there are other Skinners varieties that don't have sugar and artificial additives and are much better foods.

I'm confused that you still think it is grain free, after reading the ingredient list?

Protein pellets containing beef meat meal, extruded wholewheat biscuits, cooked flaked maize, wheat glucose syrup, baked wholewheat biscuits, cooked flaked peas, cooked wheatflakes, oils, vitamins, minerals and trace elements.

It's nearly ALL grain or grain derivatives. In what way does the ingredients list look 'good'? It looks terrible.

I didn't say i still thought it was grain free i said i see no problem trying my dog on it along with fresh food and supplements and seeing how she does

The recommended amount on her feeding guide was 200g per day for a 20kg dog but she is now on nearly 3 times that amount Confused i just feed her a full bowl of dry and wet mixed up now as half a can of food and half a cup wasn't enough for her

Totally baffled how you can you go from the statement above to feeding one of the poorest kibbles around in the space of 3 weeks Hmm

Just feed a complete kibble, why wouldn't you? Wainwrights isn't expensive and is pretty good.

Well she is currently tucking into her first big bowl of skinners and she loves it Smile all the reviews were right its a rainbow of colours and textures and smells amazing

How is it a joke Hmm weirdo. ive heard of wainrights and my local pet store stocks it so may switch her onto that if skinners doesn't work out Smile the problem with most of the foods listed on that dog food website is my local pet stores haven't heard of them or stock them and i can't really be ordering online all the time if im at work all day

I have Wainwrights for my dog and I've also ordered a big bag of Skinners Field and Trial Hypoallergenic Gluten Free Duck and Rice - which is actually what the vet recommended to me. I'll be moving him onto that and giving it a trial.

I'm going to see if the local pet stores stock any of the other skinners range also I've read that their puppy milk can be given to adult dogs as a treat so might get her some of that too Smile the muesli one does look great if not slightly like hamster food Wink and it smells devine and have a squidgy texture when i scooped it out

your feeding your dog crap. Of course you can order online you get it delivered to a safe place or collect from the depo on your way home.

You like the fact the food is colourful. You might as well go round giving local kids a can of red bull and tube of smarties as the equivalent.

Skinners do some ok food but that's the ones recommend higher up. Any dog kibble that's a rainbow of colours is complete crap.

Is Burns Original Puppy ok? I've usually bought a good working dog type, Burns is the most expensive dog food I've ever bought - but thinking it's best to put more money than usual into puppy food while they are developing - correct or not?

Of course she's tucking in, my dog tucked into a big pile of fox shit this morning - doesn't mean its good for her! I think you're having us on tbh - everyone knows the doghouse is an easy wind up and you going from cooking for your dog to an additive filled dry mixer is pretty unbelievable.

Burns is an ok food, but personally think it is expensive for what it is (mostly rice), you can get the same quality for less money (the better skinners varieties), or a better quality grain free food (millies wolfheart) for the same money.

Cheers, I have 15kg of Burns now so will look more in depth at Skinners and Millies when I next order.
