Feel awful (neglectful)- Dogs Dew Claw has become ingrown

Not even sure how I didnt see it. Seems quite sore- I intend to get her to the vets in the morning but I can see that it is embedded in her pad. What is the likely course of action?

Feel awful for not even noticing this

It's easily done, especially if the dog is black and they aren't immediately obvious.

Mine it's black with black claws and he had a trim three other night, it took me an age to actually find his dew claws amongst his long fur.

Don't beat yourself up too much, it's not something you'll do again. I'm guessing vet will just cut the claw and pull but you might end up with antibiotics as well.

Good luck

I think you can get the dew claws removed, can't you?

We did that with one of our previous rescue dogs because she hated us going near her nails.
