Always been super but he's had a few episodes of the runs, which has meant a few poos overnight in utility room where he sleeps.

Last week or so yes been OK but he's becoming increasingly resistant to doing a wee before bed. Will just stand staring at us, even when I walk up garden etc with him.

And this week he's pooed twice on the floor. Despite tummy being OK.

Any advice?

yes, a proper walk last thing

If it's a new behaviour best to check with the vet first. Could be a UTI or other stomach issue that could still be bothering him.

If vet check comes back all clear then just go back to basics with the training. Take him out more often, gentle praise when he gets it right, ignore any mistakes.

It is possible that a proper walk can get things moving along in the bowel department but I don't see why he should need to have a walk to go for his last wee. I would persist and take him out at intervals until he goes before bed. Obviously if he has recently been out on a walk or previous loo trip he might not need to empty again until morning.

Thanks both. Really loathe to introduce a walk late at night, he has lots of exercise in the daytime and I just want him to wee in the garden!

back to basics sounds sensible. He usually has a treat when we bring him in before bed but I didn't give it to him last night. Think that it should be pretty straightforward as he's SOOO treats led. Fingers crossed.

Thanks
