Anyone here have artifical grass in their back garden?

I have a decent sized back garden that is getting absolutely destroyed by both my nearly 6 month old GSD pup and my husband who keeps his bike in the shed. My kitchen and lounge are a constant mud bath Blush.

Anyone had their gardens done? Any ideas or recommendations? I've read that I shouldn't get any grass that needs rubber matting underneath as they absorb wee and stink to high heaven Smile .

I have it and it's amazing. Get back from a muddy walk, hose dog down and then he can't get muddy again. Mine does smell off wee if I don't hose it regularly, but I do so it's not an issue.

Ahh nice to hear it's great! I don't have a garden tap, but my kitchen sink is right by the back door so can always just get a bowl full of water :). Where did you get your lawn from? Did you do it yourself?

We had easigrass. They did a brilliant installation and tidied up etc. they used an outside electrical socket otherwise self sufficient.

We have never tried to pretend its real but loads of people have been surprised that its artificial. Sooo much better than the mud and moss we had before. Enjoy.

Watching with interest, our lab has turned every blade of grass yellow over the winter and we are seriously considering artifical grass. Have heard about the wee smell before so that worries me.

Ahh easigrass was the one I was told not to go with cos of the wee thing! Grin . glad to hear it's ok. Guess I need to get some quotes and samples!

I'm tempted!
Our Lab has destroyed our back lawn.

I'd love some too but we have a huge garden and it's going to cost thousands.

I can't remember if I went for lazy lawns or no mow. Both were recommended to me, you do have to hose off any runny poos your dog does, worth considering if you have no tap. We don't have one but have a hose attachment on the kitchen tap

My dog likes to dig Confused would an artificial lawn cope or be wrecked?

Letsgoforawalk · 01/04/2015 19:46

Ooh, what a good idea. Three days in with our new dog and our lawn is fast becoming a mud bath.
No mowing either...........................Grin
