Dog training with no dog? Any trainers about?

I am booked to go on a loose lead walking course on Sunday, our new dog is pretty good off lead with good recall, good stop, good heel walking, but is an absolute sod for not walking nicely on the lead. She pulls like a bloody train. She is not food focused at all but is very driven by scents on the ground so focuses on those when on her lead.

Dog came into season yesterday meaning she won't be able to go. I have contacted the trainer who is offering for me to attend anyway minus my dog and to use one of hers but I am not sure how useful that will be?

I think it will be very useful without a dog. when we went to training classes, it was to train the humans too. even things like not allowing your dog to enter the house before you.

you can practice what you've learned when you get home

I agree with Gymbob.

The dog isn't going to walk nicely at the end of the course, but you will have been given some useful tools and techniques to teach her how to walk nicely and how to deal with the pulling in a sensible way so you can work towards walking nicely on the lead over time.

The alternative is to wait until next time, but do you want to wait for that long?

You should jump at the opportunity to work with another dog you will learn so much.
