Bites not healing well

I posted a couple of weeks ago about my small dog having been bitten by a larger one. She had several wounds stitched under GA.

Unfortunately two wounds are not healing, she's back on high dose antibiotics and the vet thinks she will have to have surgery. He says that he's confident of a good outcome.

I cannot help fretting that we might be looking at a succession of procedures, and a poor outcome.

Does anyone have experience, good or bad, of this?

I have no experience of bite wounds in dogs but we had a guinea pig that was bitten by another guinea and it took several months and various debridements before the wound finally healed - which included having the wound open and dressed with Manuka honey for a while - it did heal eventually though . It ended up being a very expensive piggy !
