Firstly he isn't going anywhere so don't worry!

But...did anyone else feel stressed/worried when you got your new puppy? Little reacue from previous thread is doing well but he is very hard work and into everything at the moment! Everything I do takes 100 times longer than before and takes much more planning. I have to plan to leave the house now wheras before I would just up and go. I think I didn't realise how hard it would be!

Poor dog 1 is being very patient but has told him off a few times.

I think I forgot how difficult it was after having 14 years of my perfectly trained and easy last dog- starting again is hard Grin

He is great in most ways though and his training is coming along well but he is taking up most of my time at the moment.

Any stories of success greatly appreciated!

This will be me in a few weeks. Am alternating between being really excited, feeling incredibly guilty at the thought of our dear departed old dog and feeling really, really nervous. Grin

We got a pound puppy one month after the death of our cherished family dog. The old girl was faecally incontinent (and not solid poo either..), her back legs didn't work and it was constant worry and sadness. Little puppy poos and pees everywhere were no trouble at all after that!

I knew that one day I'd look at the tiny teeth marks on all our stuff with misty eyes and remember the grey faced, stiff old girl was once a weeny baby, to take loads of photos, make her life as fabulous as possible and cherish every second. (Not being smug here, but the huge loss we suffered put everything in perspective. I loved the puppy stage, and miss it!)

My mum was crying while scrubbing poo/piss off her floor on all fours, many years ago, and the puppy came over and rooted around for teats to suckle!! That puppy was a legend from day one. But if you're a first time owner/not into dogs/new to puppyhood then yeah-utter utter hell.
