Dog being spayed or his week - tshirt recommendations?

Our 12 month old lab is being spayed later this week. The vet recommends t-shirts instead of collars so I was thinking of buying one independently (not from them as more ££ I assume!). Thought I'd check with wise MNetters if anyone can recommend a t-shirt or if collars are better? Any other advice gratefully received!

Please excuse the poorly worded title....it was supposed to say "later this week"!

Watching with interest as DDog3 is being spayed on Friday.
Apparently our vets will actually loan them out which may be worth asking :)

I've not heard of the tshirts before, will any tshirt work? Our springer is being spayed next week and would love for her not to have to wear the cone of shame, a tshirt does sound an easier and more comfortable option.
I'll be watching with interest.

Ddog wore a t-shirt after an intestinal operation.
He is a smallish spaniel and wore a t shirt belonging to my 9 yr old.
It was long enough to cover the scar and was gathered at the top and tied with a hair bobble to keep it in place.
He was much happier in that than the collar of shame.

I just tell clients to go to Tescos and buy a nice cheap one that can be thrown away. Make a drawstring in the bottom to stop it riding up.

I really seriously thought you were asking about what words to use on a t - shirt to announce that your dog is being spayed (along the lines of I'm with stupid) Grin

So glad I read on.

In my haste with no replies yesterday I ordered this www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B00AJHE7BC/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1426623168&sr=8-1&pi=AC_SX110_SY165&keywords=animal+pet+shirt.

Wish I'd been more patient waiting for replies as a cheap tshirt from Tescos/DD's tshirt & a bobble would have been much cheaper. The doggie tshirt has arrived and looks good but I haven't tried it on the dog yet Grin.
