Do dental sticks make your dog vom?

Twice now, after giving our 7 mo lab her usual Dentastix too close to her evening meal, she has noiselessly vomited almost immediately after finishing the stick.

Could she be eating them too fast? She does relish the dentastix treats and polishes them off very quickly.

Would it all be fine if we waited much longer after her meal? Or are Dentastix not good for all dogs maybe?

They are quite high in salt. It could be because she is bolting them or her body is rejecting them.

Dried tripe sticks or a pigs/cow ear would have an equally if not better cleaning effect and far healthier.

One of my dogs has quite a sensitive stomach and they make him vomit. I stick to raw beef ribs now.

I will stick to the chews, which she loves, and last much longer with no ill effects. Thanks for the info,

My vet told me the other week to avoid the dentastix and feed one dentaflex a well instead. She said the sticks are higher in fat and salt so one flex is better.

We avoid dental sticks with our lab and use various natural dried chews instead (cows ear, lamb skin, tripe, trachea) instead. Wish we could give him raw bone/ribs, but the last two we gave him he vomited after so have have given up on them.

Our shih tzu used to throw up after dentastix - frothy green loveliness!

Weird! This just happened the other day with our Goldie - scarfed it down then puked practically seconds later.

They were a Christmas present off a relative! I might just chop little bits off the end to give now and then instead.
