Hi all my bitch has just had her first season. All went fine and she's now 3 and a half weeks post the end of her season. Been fussing her and running her belly tonight and noticed that her belly around her nipples is more taught and pronounced than it was before. All her behaviour is normal. She did not one into contact with any dogs whilst in season so is defo not pregnant. She has gained weight but not much and she is still growing so it's not far iyswim. Is this normal? She is my first bitch pup so I'm not familiar with all this!

Could be a phantom pregnancy. Get her checked out by a vet to be sure its nothing more serious.

The hormonal changes is the first weeks post season are the same in the bitch whether she is pregnant or not so it is not uncommon to get some mammary development after the first season.
Phantom pregnancies happen for exactly this reason and tend to occur around 7 to 9 weeks after the season so roughly the time any puppies would be due.
