we pick up our whippet pup this weekend and will be continuing for a short time on his food that the breeder is using which is Beta. I am aware it is not the best on the market, what else can we try and move him onto? Any advice much appreciated.

Raw?

I feed all mine (three whippets and a mongrel) on Millie's Wolfheart and would always recommend it, fabulous stuff.

Have a look on this site, it's great for researching food.

Thanks for suggestions. will look into those, also looked at nutriment online. My initial concern was trying to avoid an upset tummy when we swap him over to the different food. so excited, not long now!!!

My dog - not a whippet- is raw fed, I by plain minced (with bone), and add fish oil , coconut oil, joint supplement etc etc

He couldn't tolerate nutrient which was a shame.

Raw for us, changed him over from the breeder's food - wainwright to raw almost immediately - he disliked kibble and I saw no good reason to continue with it.
