Training treats when raw feeding.

I've just started the puppy in raw food (as lots of you know )
What do I use as training treats now? I'm not going out with a pocket full of raw offal thank you very much!
Yesterday I used cheese and today I have some cooked chicken in the fridge so though I'd use that instead of the kibble.

Don't blame you not wanting to give raw meat treats.
Some raw feeding purists buy a dehydrator to dry meat for treats but it looks a bit of a faff and machine is expensive. So I give cooked.
Liver, microwaved till firm or cooked slowly in the oven is easy and you can cut into tiny pieces and freeze. I also give cooked chicken. I stopped giving cheese when I realised it was responsible for dog's terrible wind.

Nature's Menu are fully natural, available in Pets@Home. Expensive but good. Although not strictly raw, you could use little bits of hotdog cut up. Tripe Sticks or dried fish skins (but maybe a bit smelly!) can be found in some shops or bought from raw food suppliers.

Cheese also has a lot of salt.

I give me Raw fed dog carrot, apple, cheese as treats while out and about.

Thanks for the posts. He loves banana but I've got in a right mess giving that as a treat while out b I'll try apple tomorrow. Carrot he likes too, I hadn't thought of using that.

Marcopolo, I don't use much cheese for that very reason. I break it into tiny tiny pieces I'll keep cheese for the odd occasion I don't have anything else handy.

I give Dpup cooked training treats...as long as the food is real, I'm fine with it

Oven dried liver
Sausages
Chicken
Leftovers from the dinner - any meat, fat etc. I chop them up and stick them in the freezer.
Fish frittata

I buy some treats occasionally - Hollings are good and cheap and their dried liver seems to be good quality. Have some tripe sticks and fish jerky but I'm not sure how transportable the fish is.
I've made liver cake, which is less hassle that drying liver but he's not as mad keen on it, it's contains rice flour which I'm ok with, in homemade food, it's fairly inoffensive given dpup's overall diet.
