Here is an excellent article on dog socialisation and how to introduce your dogs to other dogs

Dog Socialisation Tips

Thanks for sharing. I've got a new puppy so I'm very interested in learning about socialisation at the moment.

Thanks Mutty.
My pup is a bugger - While she was at the rescue house she was around a few adult dogs and liked to play but now she has a little weird behaviour. She'll bark when she sees dogs approaching. Not a growly aggressive bark but a short quieter one like a cough (wish I could interpret 'Dog') This obviously gets the other dogs attention and often they want to come closer. My girl then hides and whimpers and I wish she could fully understand human for ''so don't bloody bark first then'' :)

Nice article. Can I please cheekily pick your brain mutty?

Dpup is horribly enthusiastic about other dogs and really struggles with self control so recall is hard and consequently she's going back on the long line. Any extra tips apart from getting my backside in gear and going to the local walk and train class?

Gingerfudge · 20/12/2014 18:22

I need that advice too Crap Dpup has got a lot better at on lead hellos but on a long lead he is completely overexcited. Currently working my way through a few books on hard to train dogs and predatory chasing.....recall is there but proofing it has been a struggle.
