Do poms always have short noses?.
A friend commented our pom can't possibly be a full pom as she has a long nose. Doesn't matter either way just I am curious now.

Tia p.s excuse the mess I'm cupboard sorting before Christmas Xmas Smile

I’m a little late, but my furbaby looks exactly like this! I’ve been looking around for a bit and came here. Do you maybe have any idea now on what your pom’s breed is like? Is she/he actually a pom?

No way on earth was the OPs pup a Pomeranian. No way.

It literally looks nothing alike; the coat is wrong, the face is wrong, the ears are wrong and looking at the photos OP put up her pup looked to be the wrong size too.

I think the OPs puppy was predominantly sheltie but definitely not a Pomeranian.

So if your puppy looks ‘exactly like this’ I would confidently say you have been had and you don’t have a Pom.

Agree the OP's dog doesn't look like a pom, the ears are too big and the muzzle too solid. Whilst some poms do have pointy muzzles, it will be small and delicate

The losing of their puppy fur is known as 'the puppy uglies' because the fur can become quite scraggy and patchy looking until their adult coats come in.

It doesn't happen to all poms but when it does it's not a good look Grin

He’s 7 years old now so I bet he looks very different!

"I'm a little late..." like.... 7 years late!!! That's epic lateness! 😂

Unless you have clipped her, the coat is all wrong. We have a pom at the same age and he looks like a ball of fluff. There are even longer fuzzy bits all round which I think are the 'fuzzies' but the whole coat is much longer. Some have more fox like features and some have shorted noses and look more like teddy bears. Your baby is beautiful but not a full pom.

Sorry, new to posting pics and didn't want to post a personal one! This is an internet search for a 16 week pom and very similar to mine.

Poms with no papers are going for £1000+

@thethoughtfox

I'm no expert, but the pic you posted doesn't look like the OP's dog and looks like a pom to me. Funny how old the original post is 😄the OP's dog must be all grown up by now

Ellmau · 14/06/2021 19:02

She really looks like a sheltie to me, or a sheltie mix.
