Where can I buy a longish dog lead please?

hi I don't want an extendable one but would like a fabric/nylon lead around 2 or 3 metres. Have been looking in pets shops, ebay and amazon and haven't found one - all seem to be standard 1.2 metres or extendable. My dog is relatively small but am finding 1.2m too short
Thanks in advance.

You might find what you're looking for if you google 'dog training lead', you get all sorts of lengths of nylon leads come up. I've not posted any links as there are loads of them!

MothershipG · 13/11/2014 15:34

This any good?

CMOTDibbler · 13/11/2014 15:39

Meggie moo will make leads up to 2m (I love her fleece leads), and they are really excellent quality

thank you everyone - I did look at dog training leads but they all seemed too long and no handles but will look at the links you kindly posted

Online or on FB look at Meg Heath dog leads. I've got a couple and they are nicely made to whatever length you want.

moosemama · 13/11/2014 17:53

I've bought multi-way training leads of this seller a couple of time and been happy with their products:

1.8m lead

2.0m police-style, multi-way training lead.

'off' not 'of', sorry. Blush

moosemama · 13/11/2014 17:56

Came across these 1.5m leads as well, but don't know anything about them or the seller.

Lots of people use horse lunge reins. Was recommended by our local Grey Hound rescue, too. You can get them easily enough online or in a tack shop.

tabulahrasa · 13/11/2014 18:05

The training leads have clips at both ends so you can use them on things like a harness and collar...but they also have loops along them to fasten one end and one makes a handle.

pantsjustpants · 13/11/2014 18:52

Search for the seller webbingdirect on eBay. We have a 12metre one for dpup, it's been really useful.

pantsjustpants · 13/11/2014 18:53

I meant to say, they do all kinds of lengths and take orders.

Best dog leads ever are the leather ones made by the Amish! They are plaited both ends, clip and handle. We only buy those ones now, they last for ever!

TheCunnyFunt · 13/11/2014 19:15

Seconding Meggie Moo, we've just got a 6ft velvet one and it's lovely to hold :)

Tweed, the Amish!?! I thought they lived without technology etc, how do they sell online? Confused

Dwerf · 13/11/2014 19:17

I just got two and tied them together. Not that I walk him far on it, it's just really handy for the l,ast pee of the night in the garden when it's peeing down.

TweedAddict · 13/11/2014 19:39

God knows! But they go lovely and soft, so much nicer then shop brought ones

EvenBetter · 13/11/2014 21:10

I have a double ended one like what tab described, it has clips on both ends and wee metal rings along it, so you can make it about 1.5m long, or shorter if you want. mines from Mekuti.

tabulahrasa · 13/11/2014 23:55

Mine is from ebay and lined with fleece - for my hands, not the dog's benefit, which was what my DP thought, lol.

I like the training leads because they're really versatile.

shadowfax07 · 14/11/2014 12:12

Dog Games do training and fleece leads, in various lengths, and you can clip them together to form a longer lead, or to use with a two ring harness.

KatharineClifton · 19/11/2014 18:51

I got mine on ebay for about 4 quid.

FiveHoursSleep · 19/11/2014 19:10

I always use Halti Training leads-2m long but can make shorter when required.
They are nice and soft on my hands and I can put a dog on each end.
