Toooldtobearsed, we definitely do!

CarbeDiem · 13/11/2014 19:46

Do we need a puppy mummies support thread?

Definitely do. I forgot what it was like to have a puppy again.
I picked up my rescue pup last week, she's almost 10 weeks.

Your pups are lovely.

Panicmode1 · 13/11/2014 20:24

Definitely! We are off to meet our new pup on Saturday when she'll be two weeks old and I will defo need some handholding once we pick her up around Christmas!!

Toooldtobearsed · 14/11/2014 10:00

Morning All,

Daisy doing very well - only up once during the night, no little accidents at all yesterday and making my big boys life a misery (he dotes on her)!

Pics of Daisy trying out her first chicken wing - gone in five minutes! Other one is Dylan, patiently waiting for her to finish said chicken wing and come back to play with him!

Nearly had my pyjama bottoms around my ankles this morning - why do puppies love tugging the hems?

Hope everyone else's little buggers are behaving - making an appointment with the vet this morning for first jabs!

A.d.o.r.a.b.l.e. Our lab boy is 2 years old, nearly (but not quite) made me want another puppy

Faez · 14/11/2014 12:47

holmessweetholmes · 14/11/2014 17:12

Lovely puppies! Yy to the puppy mummies' support thread - we pick up our little boy the day after tomorrow. He'll be our first dog and I'm really nervous! Here he is in recent photos from the breeder...

Ah holmessweetholmes - what gorgeous pics! What have you called him? We can handhold together - it will be our first dog too! Am excited but also really nervous about it all.

holmessweetholmes · 14/11/2014 19:00

Excellent, Panicmode1! Handholding will undoubtedly be needed. We think we are going to call him Strudel!

Toooldtobearsed · 14/11/2014 19:23

Yay for Strudel! How old will he be when you pick him up ? He looks like a big boy Smile

Panic name and sex please ( the pups gender, you understand), and are you calling it Holly, Mistletoe, Rudolph?????

I met Daisy when she was a week old, they are so sweet at that age - don't be fooled, it is all a ploy to make you take them home.......

holmessweetholmes · 14/11/2014 19:43

Believe it or not, he will be 7 weeks! He is 6 weeks in those pics. Apparently GSPs are fast maturers!

Panicmode1 · 14/11/2014 21:24

Golden retriever bitch, name as yet undecided, but probably Willow (the boys (I have 3, and a DD) wanted Yoda or Leia Blush) although I have posed Ivy or Holly as alternatives!!

holmessweetholmes · 16/11/2014 23:08

Strudel has arrived! He has been a very good boy so far!

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2014 07:32

Ahh, he looks so sweet!!!!!

Good luck, and keep us updated - hope he settles well, he is a beauty Smile

holmessweetholmes · 17/11/2014 09:21

He is settling really well and already loves his crate, thank goodness! A few accidents this morning, but was dry all night and only cried for 10 mins!

Panicmode1 · 17/11/2014 13:08

So cute homessweetholmes!! Did you crate him from day 1?

We went to meet the pups on Saturday - we are SO excited and will collect her on 31st Dec. Bit later than planned but we are at a wedding all day on the 30th so didn't want to get her and then leave her so soon (albeit with my MIL). The breeder is keeping one of the girls to show, so we have to wait until she's decided which one she wants and then we can pick ours. We go back on the 30th Nov so can't wait to see how big they will be by then.

The children have now decided to call the puppy Daisy (sorry Tooold - I hadn't even shown them your beautiful girl!). However, that may change again. I'm still holding out for Willow.

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2014 14:08

Yay Grin Daisy is a cool name!

My Daisy is currently beating the crap out of Dylan, a dog six times her size. He has had a bone, a nice meaty, chewy bone. He has a bone no longer.

Daisies are little Madams!

Toooldtobearsed · 17/11/2014 14:14

The first pic is the fight for the bone, the second shows Daisy's reaction to winning!

Grin - how funny!!!!

holmessweetholmes · 17/11/2014 16:17

Panicmode1 - yes we crated him from day 1. That was the thibg I was really worried about tbh. We didn't get him home until 4pm so I thought we'd never get him used to it in time for bedtime, plus I was working today (only for an hour, 5 mins away from home) so I knew I'd have to crate him briefly today anyway.

I needn't have worried - he took to it immediately (I put a couple of treats and toys in) and he naps in there voluntarily and doesn't mind if I shut the door. Phew!

TheHobbit · 17/11/2014 16:19

Aww shes beautifulWink

Panicmode1 · 17/11/2014 17:00

Good to hear holmes - and that you can leave him already. My children swim close by so will have to leave the pup very briefly while I walk to and from - I wasn't sure from what age that was possible...!

Am hoping our pup will be as acquiescent!
