So, I'm on a list with a fab breeder and there is a litter due next month Grin

BUT,although I've had cockers (parents bred) and a darling Beagle, I've never had a goldie. I have researched, obviously, but it's always to here experiences from owners too, especially on Goldie puppyhood.

So any tales and experiences to share please?

It is not the fact that they can't go upstairs themselves but more that they should be carried to protect the joints, likewise they shouldn't jump in and out of cars at a young age.

Fluff, as previously stated, lots of it when they get bigger, you can hoover round & then see a lump of tumbleweed drift away as you un plug the machine. :D :D

But the love, fun & cuddles you will get will make up for it.

Also nothing like the joy of a Goldie running, face to the wind & tail like a Cavaliers hat plume, it is beautiful!

They shouldn't be going up the stairs little it can end up damaging joints

Gosh, thanks Purple well then I guess we'd better be careful. We only have a half flight for him to negotiate, but will keep his stair usage to a minimum.

I've just come across this thread! Have just started considering getting a golden retriever pup. i noticed at least 2 on here (including poster) were on list with a breeder, my question is: any regrets?!

Panicmode1 · 26/06/2015 08:13

Hi Perma

My goldie puppy is now 7 months old - she's a nightmare in many ways - chews everything, digs holes, eats my plants (my garden is TOTALLY trashed), but that said, she's absolutely brilliant, we love her to bits and wouldn't be without her!
