How do I feed two dogs two different foods or do I not bother with puppy food?

Bastard dog is on royal Canin small breed. I now have an 11 week old puppy with some royal Canin junior.

I've always left food down all day for bastard dog. I know its not ideal but seems to work for us and he's not fat, not really bothered about food to be honest.

So I have older dogs food in the kitchen as usual and puppy's food in the living room. They're eating each others.

Its also complicated by the fact I usually put zylkene in older dogs food to calm him down.

I did try for a while just putting his food down for 15 mins in the morning, then 15 mins in the afternoon and taking it up if not eaten. But he hardly ate anything and I went back to leaving it down. Should I try again? For both of them? Even a small puppy?

Good quality dog foods don't have puppy versions as they are usually suitable for puppies from weaning as they have everything the puppy needs (we use Wolfheart), you could try a different brand which is suitable for both.

Would be more worried about giving the puppy zylkene, can this be given in another way? Or the puppy eating too much and getting loose stools.

I've ordered a small bag of Wolfheart to see if they like it, it looks good.

Will have to see if I can get zylkene into the older dog in cheese or something. Thanks.

I think for the time being you will have to feed the dogs separately. i.e shut pup in kitchen and let him eat his, as I am sure he will be on 3 to 4 meals a day anyway.

Then put bastard dogs food down and lift after he has eaten as much as he wants, he may even start to eat it all if he has to wait between meals.

Good luck, it is not easy, but I find I have always fed pup in a different room.
