Have not been on here for a few years due to my puppy growing up! But........I've succumbed to a little pup who came home from rescue yesterday....
She is recovering from kennel cough ... So am praying my 3 yr old dog isn't going to go down! Have bathed her now and she is settling in nicely. My boy is bossy with her and she is a bit timid with him ( he is 4 x the size!)
Any advice when to give second jab? This is overdue but am reluctant to give whilst on ab s for kc . Obviously the sooner she is jabbed the sooner she can go out ....any advice please????

Ask the vet. I don't think antibiotics interfere with vaccinations. Isn't there a vaccine for KC that your other one should of had before bringing new pup home? If new pup is still contagious why aren't you keeping your dogs separate? I wouldn't risk it.

I'm surprised the rescue handed over a pup that was still contagious, that's pretty irresponsible of them.

There is a vaccine for kc but it is for only one strain so probably would be ineffective anyway,
Yes I agree rescue was irresponsible but I think they are desperate for dogs to leave asap to free up space for others x

No reputable rescue would of put another dog at risk of disease.
