Videoing pet at home

Would love to check how my dog is at home alone, anybody done this in a cheap way?

Video camera, digital camera/spare mobile phone with the ability to take videos.

I filmed my dog with a video camera once, he watched out the front room window until I vanished from his view, then he immediately leapt onto the sofa, rolled around on it, pushed cushions off and basically trashed it :o

If you have an ipad and iPhone you can download an app called Presence where you can watch your dog or you can set it up to alert you when there is any motion detected

That sounds great, which of the many iPad apps that float up for 'presence' is it? Could you describe the icon?

Presence sounds like the thing I need , so you leave iPad set up , obviously I need to figure out how to stop it automatically closing down ( Luddite ) and you can watch from your iPhone ?

It's like a green x like a wee man. Yep I prop the ipad up on the TV and the settings can be set so that it's on all the time or only when motion detected. You can even talk to your dog :)

Ah ok, it only works with an iPhone too? Or could I set it to motion sensor anyway? Off to find out!

No motion detectors needed because there is no motion.
Dog looks around, yawns, goes under the table and sleeps.

I have CCTV at home. They play a lot in the garden, sunbathe by the summerhouse, play chase and then sleep in the kitchen. I can watch all this on the iphone. Nice to keep an eye on them when out. I can control the movement of the cameras. It's a bit like Big Brother.
