FLEAS!!!!

Arrggghhhh both the dog and cat have bloody fleas
They never bite me so I haven't noticed but I saw that DP has a few bite marks then the cat did a stupid howl and then bit her bum, then I checked the dig and found a big fat one (eww)

Where can I buy cheap but good flea treatment asap before they invade the house?

You need some of this or this to treat your house ...

... and if you're not going to the vets for advocate you'll also be needing some of this.

I buy a lot from them and it never takes longer than 48 hours for delivery.

Don't bother with Bob Martins or Frontline, they don't do the job properly, if at all.

Thanks. I is my fault for being complacent due to them only ever getting fleas once in the 7 years we have had them. We did start with frontline and then one summer whilst regnant I completely forgot to buy more and they didn't get any fleas so I decided to save myself some money. Huge mistake.
I am booking them in at vets for next week where they sell frontline. Which of the household sprays do you recommend as the best? Plus we are getting the main downstairs carpets shampooed next week, will that be enough or will I need the sprays?

I'd definitely recommend Indorex as I've used that. My vet sells it, might be the quickest way to get your hands on it.

Same happened to me this year. None of my dogs have had fleas since the late 90s and I'd slackened off on my preventative measures as a result, although they were both on Advocate anyway for a period.

Then the other week we had an incident with a loose dog being a real pain when my two were on lead and the damn dog gave them both fleas.

They have both been treated now - one with advocate from the vet (best option really but ££s) and the other with Advantage and the whole ground floor (dogs aren't allowed upstairs) has been Indorexed to death.

Just groomed both of mine thoroughly and there was absolutely no sign of fleas or flea dirt, so I'm hoping we've cracked it on the first treatment, but will now keep up with their monthly applications.

Apparently it's a bumper year for fleas this year because of the warm September - not helped by many people not being aware that Frontline just doesn't work anymore.

I wouldn't recommend Frontline to anyone, it's no longer effective as fleas have become resistant to it.

I use Indorex. Shampooing alone won't be enough, as you need something that inhibits development of the immature nymphs and eggs to stop the cycle repeating as they develop into adults.

Bathed her today and found a few fleas which I happily squished and drowned Stuff coming tomorrow so hopefully the end of it.

I never knew that Frontline wasn't working anymore but not really surprised it's so popular they were bound to become immune

Frontline doesn't work? Freaking out now. How do you know if your dog has fleas?

I cannot recommend Indorex highly enough.

We really struggled in the summer, pooch was picking up fleas from day care and the house was quickly taken over. Vile. Two cans of Indorex and treatment for pooch and he's been flea free since. The Indorex is still working as it kills flies that land on carpet and spiders that cross it. Very effective stuff.

Fishfinger give her a good comb through and look for any red itchy patches and flea poo. If you use a nit comb you will more than likely see a few scurrying about under the fur, they run too fast to catch though.

Dogs been treated, carpets washed just waiting for them to fully dry then I will be spraying with indorax
