Staffy GSD cross

We've been looking for a rescue staffy to come live in the country with us and our parson jack terrier. We've seen two so far which weren't suitable - one can't live with another dog and the other was terrified of me, hackles up and turned her back, poor thing had been abused.

Anyway, we're going to visit a staffy/GSD cross on Thursday and I must admit I've already got a bit of a crush on him - he looks like a fun dog and my youngest (12) would like to do lots of training and would keep him busy. But I'd like to know if any of you have any thoughts about this particular cross - I wasn't originally going to look at staffy crosses as you can't always be sure what the other element is, but this dog obviously is what he's described as.

So your thoughts would be very welcome!

I knew a whole litter of them once (a friend's staffy was caught by a GSD that used to wander the neighbourhood) all bar one were just very staffyish in looks and behaviour.

The other one was a bit of a handful, he looked like a huge staffy, but along with the size he got all the GSD intelligence and drive along with the staffy exuberance...he was a lovely dog, but hard going for the owner.

Should be interesting on Thursday then! My feeling is that as long as we keep him busy all will be well, and what you've said confirms that. Thank you!
